Turley: Driving Inclusive Growth with Strategic DEI Support

Background

Turley, an employee-owned advisory firm, was on a mission to advance its Inclusion, Equity, and Diversity (IED) programme. Facing challenges like closing the gender pay gap and diversifying leadership, the company sought external expertise to reshape its IED strategy. Toby Mildon and the Mildon team provided the necessary guidance to help Turley make meaningful progress.

Approach

  1. Leadership Engagement:
    • Attended leadership meetings to provide insights through an IED lens.
    • Facilitated workshops to engage senior leaders, focusing on inclusive growth and overcoming fears around DEI.
  2. Coaching and Learning:
    • Delivered coaching sessions to support the leadership team and the IED network, “Embrace.”
    • Created a safe, open environment for honest discussions, helping leaders gain confidence in their DEI roles.
  3. Operational Support:
    • Assisted in auditing and refreshing Turley’s IED plan, identifying areas of strength and improvement.
    • Helped integrate co-owner voices into the strategy, ensuring inclusivity throughout the organisation.

Results

  • 90% of senior leaders reported changes in behaviours and leadership approaches following Mildon’s input.
  • Immediate actions, such as policy audits and gender pay initiatives, supported long-term cultural change.
  • Strategic focus on inclusivity created a foundation for continuous improvement, driving the company forward.

Client Perspective

“Toby and the Mildon team have been like an extension of our own team. The programme changed behaviours and language, and set the stage for long-term cultural change. I’m sure Mildon will continue to play a key role in our IED future.”
